Reds Spring Training

Reds 2B Brandon Phillips sqaures around to bunt

Pitchers and catchers have reported for duty and let the speculation begin. Will Aroldis Chapman finally get his shot to be a starter? Is there a spot for Mike Leake in the rotation? Should we ever expect to see Nick Masset pitch again? The lineup seems to be pretty set in stone: Choo, Phillips, Votto, Ludwick, Bruce, Frazier, Cozart, Hannigan, but do you have other ideas? Weigh in below and let us know your thoughts on the opening day rotation and lineup.

  1. Chapman should be left as the closer for one more year. Then when Arroyo is done next yeaR we should sneak him in then.

  2. That's a good point Jessie. Dusty Baker commented the other day and basically said it's not a done deal that Chapman is in the rotation. He is going to have to earn the spot in Spring Training. In my own opinion I want him as a starter. I think with Ondrusek, Marshall, & Broxton we can still pack a punch with our late relievers and closer. He deserves a shot.
